Taking Clinical Photos

This article explains the limitations and best practice for taking clinical images from the Best Practice Mobile app.

Taking clinical images from a mobile device

Add clinical images

Clinical images can be added from the patient summary screen or an open consultation.

  • From the patient summary, tap the camera icon next to Start consult.
  • From an open consult, tap the plus icon next to Finalise and select Camera.

NOTE  You must allow the Best Practice Mobile app access to your camera to take clinical images.

Upload images to a patient summary or consult:

  1. Use the camera to take clinical images.
  2. Add a description and details if required.
  3. Toggle the Confidential switch on if the image should be marked as confidential.
  4. Select Continue to return to the camera.
  5. Select Save when you are finished. The images will start uploading.
  6. Choose to Take More or tap Close to add the images to the consult or patient summary.

The consultation notes will show that clinical images have been imported if added from a consultation.

NOTE  The maximum image file size is limited to 1MB.
